Summer Summarizing

So...I have been a bit lazy this summer about posting pictures. I'm going to try to make up for a summer's worth of pictures by grouping them according to category. Today you get to see a review of our various trips to various zoos, berry picking, and to the beach. Hopefully, I'll be back another day to post some other highlights!

Virginia Zoological Park - Norfolk, VA

We visited a bunch of Zoos this summer...and have tons of pictures of various animals and creatures...but I thought you'd enjoy seeing the pictures of us more. Because we're cuter (or at least the girls are cuter!)

Washington Zoo

After the Fourth, we took the girls to the Washington Zoo to visit the animals...one of Ada's favorite part of the day was seeing the elephant get a bath...she talked about this for days.

Richmond Zoo

Josie did touch that Giraffe!!! She has always been a bit timid around animals (unlike Ada as you see below), however, she finally got up the courage to pet the giraffe and was quite pleased!!!

blackberry pie...blackberry jam

This was the Spring & Summer of berry picking (or eating!) adventures...here are some pictures of three more such trips. We picked so many blackberries that we ended up making one blackberry pie and 24 jars of blackberry jam (my first jam making experience...and if you happen to have received a jar, let me know what you think!!!).

Raspberry & Blueberry Picking

On yet another berry picking adventure, we traveled to the Berry Farms and picked some delicious raspberries and blueberries.

strawberries! We picked our final strawberries of the season in Pungo (near VA Beach) with Grandma, Granddaddy, and cousin Anita....yumyum!

Beach Days

We spent three wonderful weeks at the beach this summer (separated into three visits)...and the girls couldn't get enough sand, surf, and time with grandma and granddaddy!!! They also enjoyed time with Maddie, Lilly, and baby Charlie (and the rest of their beach family!).
